In 2024, Burny Games demonstrated one of the fastest growth rates among mobile game development companies in Ukraine. Against the backdrop of a general industry crisis, the company managed to scale its business, expand its product portfolio, and double its team.

About the Company
Burny Games is a Ukrainian product IT company founded in 2022. It specializes in mobile games in the puzzle and sort genres for iOS and Android. The team is fully Ukrainian and operates in a hybrid format. The flagship product is the puzzle game Colorwood Sort.
Key Results of 2024
In 2024, Burny Games’ games were downloaded over 30 million times, and the total number of downloads over three years exceeded 45 million. The monthly active user base reached 5 million users.
The company’s financial metrics increased significantly. In 2024, Burny Games’ revenue grew fivefold compared to 2023. Main markets: the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.

Product engagement remained consistently high: average daily active users (DAU) in 2024 reached 1 million. In the company’s flagship product, Colorwood Sort, first-day retention consistently exceeds 50%.
Along with the business indicators, the team grew rapidly. During the year, Burny Games doubled the number of employees – from 50 to 115 specialists, becoming the fastest-growing mobile game company in Ukraine by hiring pace, according to DOU.
Challenges vs Opportunities

Thanks to the transition to a matrix structure, Burny Games was able to accelerate the development and launch of new products, allowing for quick responses to market changes and maintaining flexibility in unstable conditions», says Anatolii Henis, CEO of Burny Games.
«Despite the overall market decline, Burny Games not only retained its position but also reached a new level of development. The key success factors were team focus, process optimization, and a long-term growth strategy», adds Ihor Palchyk, COO of the company.
Product Achievements
Colorwood Sort became the main driver of the portfolio, entering the Top 20 on the US App Store in 2024. The game ranked among the Top 10 Puzzle Games and took 2nd place in the Family Games category. The total number of downloads exceeds 25 million, with main markets being the USA, United Kingdom, and Germany.
Colorwood Words was developed in a record 50 working days. At launch, the average session length was 12 minutes, now it’s 24 minutes. The game shows high engagement and is steadily growing, forming a solid foundation for entering new markets. In 2025, a daily quiz challenge boosted ad views on Android and iOS by 10%. The number of downloads exceeds 500,000.
Playdoku maintains a strong base of active players, with over 17 million downloads, and is currently in a support phase. Colorwood Blocks also shows stable retention: the number of downloads exceeded 1.6 million.
Plans for 2025
Burny Games is preparing for a major strengthening of its business directions. In 2025, the company plans to expand its product portfolio and launch a number of new games in the puzzle and casual sort genres. Burny Games will continue to develop these products and work on a new project within the R&D team.
The ambition is to grow the team to 150 specialists. Currently, the company has four open vacancies: Game Designer, Organic Growth Lead, Software Data Engineer, and User Acquisition Manager.
