Fireball: a unit built around strong specialists worth learning from, with the space to create games you can't put down

What do Sudoku and Tetris have in common? Nothing – until Playdoku came along. In 2025, Burny Games shifted to a business unit model: autonomous teams, their own products, their own accountability. Fireball is one of those units. It's led by producer Yevhen Tur, who has been with Burny Games for over two years. Before that, he worked in data analytics – so "feelings" and "I think" don't carry much weight here. Numbers do.

What do they make?


Playdoku is the company's first major hit, with over 20 million downloads. Players clear the board by filling rows and combinations – simple on the surface, but with real depth. Exactly the kind of game you open "for a minute" and look up from an hour later.


Colorwood Blocks is a refined block puzzle with a wooden aesthetic and well-balanced mechanics. It has over 3 million downloads and a dedicated fanbase drawn to its calm yet engrossing pace.


Beyond these, the team is actively working on new projects – and has no plans to slow down.

How are decisions made?


Yevhen is a manager who knows how to trust his team. "My strength lies in keeping the focus on collective success and trusting specialists in their own domains," he says. But trust doesn't mean "do whatever you like." There are clear benchmarks, short iteration cycles – up to two weeks – and a readiness to calmly say "that didn't work" and move on.

"If a project isn't growing from the first iterations, scaling it is nearly impossible," Yevhen says plainly. Small, fast experiments beat long, hopeful ones. Painful sometimes? Yes. Effective always? Also yes.

AI at Fireball is a daily tool. The team operates in an AI-first mode: forecasting metrics, optimizing development, speeding through testing stages. AI handles the routine – the team focuses on the product.


Who are they looking for?

People who love games and love what they do. Yevhen is upfront about it: "I love working with people who care, who always want to do things better, faster, more impressively." He adds: "It matters to me that the team has experts I can learn from myself."
